It's late, I'm tired and that game totally sucked - but I had to get something off of my chest: John McLaren is an idiot. As if getting tossed in the first inning wasn't bad enough, it happened in one of the most important games the M's have seen in years. Plus, the whole thing looked so trite and over-the-top. Way to get the team fired up there, John.

Do ya really think McLaren NOT being there HURT the team last night?

They couldn't hit Lackey even if they changed the rules and made him get FOUR strikes versus Seattle, and McLaren doesn't HELP the team.

Yeah - I considered that and, personally, I don't think it affected the outcome. Lackey was filthy and the M's couldn't string hits together to put runs on the board. However, while I don't think it made a difference, as the manager of the team, you have to think that you matter. So, what's the point of getting tossed in the first inning? Sure, it was a bad call, but if you're leading a team in one of the most important games they've played in in years, what's the point? I'm not a believer in getting thrown out to fire up the team. Plus, the whole thing just looked so staged. I thought it was just pathetic...
